August 12, 2014 seems like a long time ago. That was our first cattle sale in our old Clarinda Livestock facility. Fast forward to August 2021 and Clarinda Livestock has transformed into a modern regional livestock facility.
Many changes have occurred since the beginning including:
Our staff continues to grow in numbers and are as qualified as any in the country to help you market your cattle with on farm visits and advice. Our staff here at the market are a seasoned and knowledgeable team that understands the business as far as sorting, cattle grading, and making sure your cattle are penned comfortably with room, feed, and water as needed.
Auctioneers Lanny Ireland and Russele Sleep are both experienced World Champions with different styles but achieve the same results. They understand livestock values and the balance between buyer and seller.
Just recently we’ve added monthly sheep and goat sales to our schedule headed by Shane Deering. Some of you may remember Shane from the old St Joe Stockyards where he headed their sheep and goat sale.
We have recently had a change in our veterinarian staff. It is now headed by longtime vet Adam Acklin and his associate Cord Huettner. They are both experienced in the sale barn industry.
We’re looking forward to a good Fall and Winter run of Feeders and it appears that the market could finally be in the seller’s favor. The cattle industry has suffered a large array of setbacks the last couple of years that have held the market in check. A severe drought in the western cattle states should keep cattle numbers in check for the next few years. Just as we saw with the Texas drought back in 2014 and 2015.
Our Customer Appreciation Sale will be held September 23 with a nice run of yearlings and the start of Spring calves.
We would also like to remind everyone that Deferred Payments and Direct Checking Deposits are always available.
We ask for your business and support and in return promise to do our best in serving you and your livestock.
Thank you again for all of your support.
